At the origins
In 1991, the Monaco Yacht Show was founded around a guiding idea: to transform Port Hercule, for a few days, into a “floating” exhibition dedicated to superyachting, right alongside the quays and pontoons. The first edition opened with a still limited selection—32 superyachts on display—and laid the foundations for a format that would become the event’s signature.
From a specialized gathering to an international benchmark
Over the years, the Monaco Yacht Show has moved beyond the confines of a salon “for insiders” to become a structuring international meeting point for the superyachting world. Port Hercule has established itself as a temporary marketplace where the sector’s leading areas of expertise converge: builders, brokers, designers, equipment suppliers, and specialized service providers, all brought together around a shared objective—to showcase exceptional yachts and support high-value projects (purchase, charter, refit, management).
This rise in prominence is due as much to the level of yacht selection as to the quality of interactions: the show has become an annual checkpoint where trends are confirmed, approaches are compared, and decisions are accelerated within a highly concentrated environment.

Another hallmark is the selection of superyachts. The show functions as an end-of-season showcase, featuring highly anticipated vessels and a presentation that makes it possible to compare, understand, and appreciate details under real-life conditions.

Towards more responsible yachting
In recent years, the Monaco Yacht Show has strengthened a positioning focused on excellence and innovation. Within this dynamic, the show has further structured its editorial spaces, notably with the Yacht Design & Innovation Hub, conceived as a venue dedicated to design trends and the most advanced solutions related to construction and fit-out projects.
The “more responsible yachting” dimension has also become clearer with the launch of Blue Wake™, a program dedicated to innovation and sustainability, developed in partnership with the Water Revolution Foundation.
